Digging out my girlfriend's old records, giving them a good clean and using a good anti static dust brush, they sound very good so far. For those new to records, it's important to keep the stylus (yeah that's right, the needle) clean of all the rubbish that lurks in the air and gets in the record grooves. Get a proper little brush for the stylus, they are not expensive. Also definitely get proper cleaner and cloth, and a dust brush, again these are under a tenner usually. This will kill most of the hiss and crackle you may be getting. This particular deck seems very susceptible to it's arm getting knocked out of the groove by even the smallest amount of debris. My old cheap 80's Marantz deck wasn't so easily knocked off course by groove debris, and sounded pretty good to. Also be careful when taking the records off the platter, as I keep knocking the drive belt off the platter when I change the disc. Not sure why the belt can't sit in a little groove for security, but no doubt the Moth people will choke on their beards. Well they can hiss off!!Read full review

This is my third Project deck and just like the others it performs brilliantly. No frills, just solid engineering that produces great sound at a very reasonable price. 5 Stars.
